Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor

NOTE:

Position Summary:
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor will be responsible for planning, coordinating and refining a comprehensive occupational safety, health and environmental program for a growing multi-site manufacturer. Must be able to train and work with manufacturing professionals to improve processes and methods. This position requires someone who is process driven and possesses strong technical skills as well as the soft skills needed to influence and lead. This individual would be responsible for oversight of the day-to-day EHS functions within all Indiana facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help drive and develop EHS strategies in a manufacturing environment.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development, coordination & the implementation and maintenance of an EHS Program.
  • Responsible to help draft/update and recommend EHS manuals.
  • Develop, conduct or provide for EHS related training.
  • Conduct facility and site inspections, job hazards analysis, risk assessment and analysis, and other evaluations to identify hazards, potential risks and waste.
  • Represents Company in inspections conducted by OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure all domestics facilities are in National Electric Code compliance.
  • Ensure all domestic facilities are in compliance with all applicable OSHA standards.
  • Ensure all domestic facilities are in compliance with all applicable environmental permit requirements and federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure all domestic facilities are in DOT compliance.
  • Assist organization in the preparation and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan. 
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of employees


Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or related field required. 
  • Professional certification(s) highly preferred (e.g. CSP, CHMM, CIH, PE)
  • 2 years previous EHS management experience employed in an industrial manufacturing environment highly preferred 
  • Must be knowledgeable with OSHA and EPA regulations, and Indiana state requirements
  • 5- 8 years’ experience in environmental, safety and health within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA, DOT Compliance, etc.
  • Ability to travel up 20% of time
