Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

SUMMARY:
 
  • Assists in the development and implementation of Environmental Health and Safety programs to address government regulations/standards, fully addressing their implications on the facility.
  • Develops, presents, and ensures the completion of any employee training in Environmental Health and Safety policy and procedures. Researches industry "Best-Practices" to ensure world class leadership in EHS. 
  • Performs risk assessments and recommends corrective actions in R&D and  Manufacturing  environments.
  • Ensures a thorough investigation of incidents.
  • Uses knowledge to develop solutions and engage resources to implement improvements to Environmental Health and Safety issues/challenges.
  • Interfaces with representatives of government agencies, and various levels of management regarding environmental management, occupational health and safety.
  • Conducts briefings and/or training sessions.
  • Provides technical support to the Manufacturing and Engineering functions.
  • Designs, develops and conducts legally required environmental protection and safety training programs for employees.
  • Investigates safety related accidents/incidents and accidental exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Develops and maintains good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills that supports functional groups
  • Implements process changes or procedures necessary to comply with applicable EHS regulations and requirements.
  • Writes and implements new safety procedures.
  • Reduces safety costs through the implementation of best practices in environmental management, safety and occupational health issues.
  • Evaluates capital projects for process changes and use of new chemicals for safety impact and regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts ergonomics evaluations, prepares associated documentation and provides employee workstation ergonomic recommendations.
  • Supports workers compensation and loss prevention programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related Engineering or Science discipline (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or relevant related experience.  Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience is required.
  • CSP or CIH certification required.
  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of federal and state EH&S regulations and requirements.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Self-starter, business savvy, and skilled at adapting management style to fit program/project delivery needs.
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate and statistically analyze technical data and prepare management reports.
  • Strong customer orientation and a bias for action.

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Matching: Employees can set aside funds for retirement on a pre-tax or after-tax (Roth) basis. Cymer matches $1.25 per dollar contributed to this plan, up to 4% of the employee’s annual salary and bonus to a $5,000 maximum each calendar year. 
  • ASML Share Purchase Plan: Employees may elect to purchase ASML ordinary shares through payroll deductions. A 20% premium is paid on the purchase price to active employees after the shares are held for one year.
  • Education Reimbursement Program: We encourage all employees to continue their professional development and education. Up to $5,250 per year for successfully completing coursework at accredited educational institutions.
  • Paid Time Off: Holidays: 13 per year, Vacation: 3 weeks’ per year, increases with length of service & Sick time: Up to 10 days annually
