Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional

SUMMARY:
A brief description summarizing the overall purpose and objectives of the position and the results the worker is expected to accomplish. 

The EHS Professional is responsible for assuring compliance with local, state, and federal air quality regulations for PDC Energy’s Colorado operations. The position supports local, state, and federal air quality compliance programs, specifically as they relate to field personnel and is a resource to field personnel for air quality compliance and programs. The EHS Professional also supports PDC’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and other air quality or EHS programs as necessary. 

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Partner with EHS and other departments within PDC to maintain compliance with state, federal, and local air quality regulations;
  • Manage field projects and programs geared towards air quality compliance;
  • Oversee compliance with state and federal leak detection and repair (LDAR) programs;
  • Acts as primary point of contact for CDPHE and county regulatory air quality inspectors; 
  • Support initiatives to utilize and maintain PDC’s EMS;
  • Stay abreast of new and changing regulations to continually evaluate compliance, and implement changes as necessary;
  • Conduct training of PDC personnel, including training on new or changing rules, policies, and/or procedures;
  • Participate in on-call rotation;
  • As needed, support other air quality or EHS programs for PDC;
  • Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required at the direction of supervisor. 

III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulatory standards;
  • Flexibility to work in an evolving regulatory environment;
  • Motivated self-starter;
  • Ability to take initiative when needed;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent problem solving abilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Effective in collaborative work environment;
  • Strong communication skills, both written an oral;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Familiarity with oilfield equipment preferred. 

IV. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

V. WORKING CONDITIONS:
50% office environment, 50% field environment; Travel between PDC office and various oil & gas field operations as required. 

VI. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS Degree in engineering, environmental, or related science discipline; 
  • 3+ years experience in air quality compliance and/or oil and gas; 
  • Experience with leak detection and repair programs preferred; 
  • Experience executing or implementing field air quality compliance programs preferred.
