Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

SUMMARY:
Direct, manage and supervise the day-to-day administration of corporate policies and programs designed to ensure a culture of safety and environmental concern. The EHS Manager will engage in the development, planning, improvement and implementation of EHS management systems. This is an active, participatory role, directly involved in the execution of policies and projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Act as leader and primary trainer for environmental, health and safety programs at the US sites
  • Coordinate and provide direction for environmental and safety initiatives across the global corporation
  • Chair the site Safety Committee
  • Implement policies and procedures to:
  • Reduce environmental impact and comply with environmental management systems in accordance with the ISO14001 standard
  • Comply with occupational safety and regulatory requirements
  • Comply with OSHAS 18001 standards
  • Provide periodic updates to Senior Leadership on the status of environmental management systems, occupational safety activities, opportunities for improvement and current and proposed projects
     

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in EHS management preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 standard 
  • Experience with OSHA and local safety regulations
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and training skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
     

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted
