Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing the safety processes within the Solomon, KS campus.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Leads facility safety initiatives, audits, and support the safety committees in getting assignments done.
  • Set the example for professionalism, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Find opportunities for increasing profitability, working through the right channels for implementation and integration of best practices related to safety.
  • Support monthly operational goals with ideas to reduce hazards and risk exposures.
  • Create and maintain high standards for customer service both internally and externally related to safety targets.
  • Lead the corrective action process in the event an  arises with an eye for making absolutely certain the corrective action remains in place going forward.
  • Held accountable for removing obstacles for our floor technicians so we avoid production stoppages while adhering to safety and environmental procedures.
  • Demonstate ability to audit EH & S processes to validate compliance and transfer of knowledge to the plant floor.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:  

  • Bachelor of Science degree or environmental studies of related field preferred
  • 3-5 years professional safety experience; preferably from a robust and dynamic safety program
  • Demonstrated experience of EH&S data management systems; prefer Dakota.
