Environmental Compliance/Due Diligence Consultant (Ewing)

ERM is seeking a motivated mid-career Environmental Compliance/Due Diligence Consultant to join our consulting team in Ewing, NJ.  The successful candidate will have experience conducting multi-media environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) audits or relevant industry experience in a corporate EHS program. Additional relevant experience includes transactional due diligence work, air permitting and compliance work, and development/implementation of environmental and safety programs for industrial clients. The candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects for clients in the oil & gas, power, chemical, and manufacturing sectors throughout the MidAtlantic region.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Independently conduct multi-media EHS audits of industrial facilities throughout the United States.
  • Author technical reports for environmental compliance and due diligence products with little supervision.
  • Develop complete and accurate air quality permits for minor sources, as well as Title V, PSD, and New Source Review compliance.
  • Prepare various regulatory submittals, including Tier 2 reports, TRI reports, and emissions inventories with little supervision.
  • Develop complete and accurate storm water permit applications, wastewater permit applications, RCRA registrations, and permit transfer documentation.
  • Implement climate change projects, such as greenhouse gas inventories, emission reductions, energy efficiency, public disclosure and verification.
  • Perform multiple tasks within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Science discipline. MS degree is a plus.
  • Professional Certification (CIH, CSP, ASP, CPEA, CHMM) is a plus.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience. Direct consulting or industry experience required.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
  • Strong hands-on spreadsheet and database comprehension.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest to work on several tasks at the same time, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently and as part of a project team.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
