Environmental Auditor

This position will report to the leader for Environmental Auditing and Data Systems and will be based in Springdale Arkansas. Environmental Auditors must be capable of coordinating and leading on-site multi-media environmental audits with minimal managerial oversight. Demonstrated prior success at managing environmental compliance programs and audit programs is a must. The job requires at least 60% travel.

Job responsibilities include the following activities:
Leadeffective environmental audit teams, which include, identify risk of noncompliance and deviations with environment regulations and corporate policies at food production and ancillary facilities; identify opportunities for improvement in facility procedures, programs, and management systems which may lead to noncompliance if not corrected; develop timely and accurate audit reports; communicate environmental obligations and compliance assurance observation methods to facility staff in a clear and meaningful way; communicate audit findings to facility staff and business management; review and analyze audit findings to identify potential trends; identify improvement opportunities in auditing methodologies and protocols to improve the ability to identify compliance deviations; effectively manage budgets.

Requirements:
Education:
BS or MS in environmental science, natural science or engineering

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years environmental auditing experience, food industry experience is a plus

Computer Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.

Communication Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Special Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead professional teams; strong knowledge of US Environmental regulations, permitting and ISO 14001 environmental management systems, with lead auditor credentials or training; Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), or other Environmental Management professional Certification is desired;
