EH&S Sales Representative

Position Overview:
The Sales Representative role is an ideal position for a technically oriented EHS professional seeking to transition into sales.  The role offers incentive-based compensation based on sales bookings achieved.   Reporting to the president, you will be part of a sales development program working to develop a sales pipeline of new accounts, supported by the company’s marketing and lead generation program.  You will leverage your EHS industry experience and refine your solution-selling skills to communicate directly with customer prospects and understand/define their requirements, conduct basic software demonstrations, lead pricing discussions, and negotiate contracts.   This role requires a high degree of initiative, organization, and self-motivation to represent Perillon in a highly professional and competent manner. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of customer prospects from lead stage through to contract closure, managing a complex sales cycle consisting of multiple stakeholders involved with the buying decision
  • Gather prospects’ EHS requirements through effective verbal and written communications, leveraging technical EHS industry experience to build credibility and trust
  • Conduct sales presentations and take ownership of basic software demonstrations to customers, including preparatory light configuration of the sales demo system
  • Present pricing, address objections, and negotiate contractual terms in close collaboration with company management and other key Perillon stakeholders
  • Maintain all account related activities in the company’s CRM system (Salesforce.com)
  • Review and complete Request for Proposals (RFPs) in coordination with Perillon stakeholders

Qualifications: 

  • 3 years EHS industry experience, preferably with an environmental consulting firm serving industrial companies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and hands-on software skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Sales experience preferred, but not required
  • US citizen or permanent resident alien status
  • Proven and quantifiable track record of over-achievement
  • 25% travel
