Our Environmental and Occupational Safety program is designed to provide students with skills and knowledge in the development of accident prevention programs in the workplace. Widely used accident prevention techniques such as failure minimization, fail-safe design insulation, lockouts, screening, personal protective equipment, redundancy and timely replacement are studied.
In addition, the improvement of environmental working conditions is discussed. Among others, students are also required to take courses in computer applications, material science, energy, CAD, ecology, biological science, environmental safety, hazardous material management, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics. Many of these courses are laboratory oriented where students learn technical subjects through hands-on application. Our program produces experienced graduates, flexible and adaptable candidates for diverse business and industrial organizations with a reasonable amount of in-service or job-oriented training.
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology program is accredited by the National Association of Industrial Technology (NAIT), 3300 Washtenaw Avenue, #220, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, tel.
